July 12, 2006, Santa Rosa, CA -- The Imagine 2006 Auction, Sonoma County's largest charity wine auction, announces the third annual Imagine Children's Concert, scheduled for Thursday, July 27th, at 1:00 PM at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts (formerly the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts). The Santa Rosa Symphony and Pickle Family Circus will combine their talents to perform a musical and visual performance to Camille Saint Saens’ "Carnival of the Animals" and Benjamin Britten’s “The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra”. Sonoma County resident Marcy Smothers will narrate this wonderful afternoon of symphonic music and spectacular circus performances.
Over 100 children’s organizations in Sonoma and Napa counties have been invited to participate in a pre-concert music and art education program to enrich their appreciation and understanding of the concert. The WK Kellogg Foundation, the Furth Family Foundation and the Jackson Family Foundation make this educational outreach possible.
A limited amount of tickets will be available to the public. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased on-line at www.wellsfargocenterarts.com, or by calling 707-546-3600. Advance ticket purchase is recommended as this event typically sells out.
Imagine 2006, Sonoma County’s largest and most successful wine auction, announces the third annual auction and benefit, scheduled for Saturday, July 29, 2006. Imagine 2006 includes the above mentioned Children’s Concert and a Friday evening dinner dance, culminating in Saturday's benefit Auction held at Jackson Park in the Bennett Valley appellation in the heart of Sonoma County's Wine Country. Imagine 2006 features star entertainment, a luxury auction of wines, aircraft, automobiles, jewelry and adventures, plus a gourmet luncheon with premium Sonoma County wines.
Since its debut in 2004, the Imagine Auction has raised millions of dollars for children's charities here and abroad and has become one of California Wine Country's premier social events. In its second year, Imagine 2005 hosted over 400 guests and in one afternoon through a live and silent auction raised more than $2.5 million, more than doubling the proceeds from the previous year.
